Boxd ("Boxd", "we", "us", or "our") provides an AI-powered gifting concierge service that helps you remember important dates, curates gift suggestions, and coordinates purchasing and shipping on your behalf.   • Account information: your name, email address, and authentication details when you sign up or sign in with a magic link.
  • Contact and recipient information: names, relationships, important dates, shipping addresses, and gifting preferences for the people you add to your Boxd account.
  • Style and preference data: answers to onboarding questions, budget settings, and feedback you give on suggested or purchased gifts, which we use to personalise future recommendations.
  • Order and payment information: order history, shipping status, and billing details processed through our payment provider. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
  • Communications: messages you send us through the contact form, and records of the emails and SMS notifications we send you.
  • Usage data: basic technical information such as device type, browser, and how you interact with the app, used to keep the service reliable and secure.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Operate the Boxd service, including tracking dates, generating AI gift suggestions, and processing orders and shipments.
  • Send notifications about upcoming occasions, order status, and account activity by email and, where enabled, SMS.
  • Improve our AI recommendations using your feedback and stated preferences.
  • Provide customer support and respond to enquiries.
  • Maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of our platform.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate Boxd, such as payment processing, email and SMS delivery, AI model providers, and physical card and gift fulfilment partners. These providers are only given the information necessary to perform their function.
  • Legal and safety purposes, where required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Boxd, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers, if Boxd is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain uses of it. You can update most account and contact details directly within the app, or contact us using the details below to make a request.

Boxd is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
